General rules
- All members must agree to follow the Proboards ToS
-Please do not spam, troll or flame.
- Please keep swearing to a minimum
-Members may not exalt/smite one member continously. Ie, exalting/smiting one person every hour, or exalting/smiting one person and only one person.
-Do not make threads about your post count. It is only a number.
Graphics
- Avatars must be 30KB or less.
- Sigs must be 100KB or less. This is the combined file-size of ALL sig images.
Signatures should be no larger than 550wide x200 tall pixels in size. This is the combined size of ALL sig images.
If your avatar or sig exceeds either size limit, it may be removed by a staff member, without explanation.
Out of consideration for those with slower connections, when posting photos or artwork, please resize the image so that it has a reasonable filesize. We'll say about 250KB for art and stuff. If it's larger than that, you must post a link to the image.
-Double Posting:
--Double Posting means to post twice within a very short time limit, and is not the same as bumping. It is perfectly fine to double post sometimes. I do it.
But don't make a regular habit out of it; the edit button exists for a reason
-Bumping Threads:
--Never, never, never bump old threads on the following boards: The Bulletin Board, Introductions
-- The threads in these boards can get outdated very quickly. We staff try to do our part by periodically locking old threads on these boards.
All other boards: No special rules, just use common sense. If you see a thread from last May, in which someone is asking for homework help, don't bump it. Also, when bumping an old thread, please make an extra effort to continue the conversation. Bumping a thread from a year ago just to write LOL is silly.
Indivdual boards may have their own set of rules. Please remember to read those as well!
The Warning System
How it works:
Your warning meter goes up when you break the rules, both those specified above and unwritten rules. The amount it goes up depends on how bad the broken rule was.
When the meter rises above 50% you will get a Warning Title. This will replace any custom title you may have and will not be removed until your meter reaches 0%.
At 75%-99% you may get a temporary ban. At 100% you get a permanent ban.
To get the meter lowered, you most demonstrate good behavior, and the meter will gradually be lowered. Disapearing for months does not show good behavior (in fact, it doesn't show ANY behavior good or bad), and will not get your meter lowered.
That said, if you have been active at the forums and have been behaving and your meter has not lowered, feel free to PM me. I'm forgetful
